Miles has worked in broadcast and commercial media as a Director of Photography since 2005. He has extensive experience filming and editing long form news and documentaries, previously at Network Ten's The Project, then as DOP at The Feed on SBS.
He was a finalist in both the 2014 and 2015 Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism for his camerawork on The Feed. The 2014 entry pieces: Caught Inside, Beekeeper's Son and Last Man in Acland and are on the FOLIO page.
More recently, Miles was the DOP on the six part ABC Comedy series Growing Up Gracefully and Screen Australia series Sheilas, both produced by Giant Dwarf.
Miles currently owns a Sony PXW-FS7 kit. He has a wide array of sound, light and grip equipment. He is a qualified Steadicam Zephyr (11kg Payload) owner / operator, having trained with Phil Balsdon.
